School Counselor
Hi there! I’m Shundra Jones, and I’m so happy to be part of the Hogg New Tech family. I’m originally from East Texas but have lived here in the Dallas area for over 20 years. I’m a wife, mom, and grandmother, and I actually started my career a little later in life—but that’s never stopped me from learning and growing!
Before becoming the school counselor, I worked in many different roles in Dallas ISD for 20 years. I earned my bachelor’s and two master’s degrees from Amberton University, and I’m always looking for ways to improve so I can better support our kids.
When I was teaching here at Hogg, I saw firsthand how important it is to support students and their families—not just academically, but in all areas of life. I’m passionate about connecting families with resources, giving back to our community, and helping students feel supported and confident.
As your school counselor, I’m here to work closely with our staff, students, and families. I’m excited to partner with you and make sure every child has what they need to succeed and feel safe and cared for at school.
